I have always been very attracted to the strange and awe inspiring discoveries resulting from man's exploration of space, the deep sea, and the microscopic world afforded to us by ever improving technological and scientific advancements. I am particularly fascinated by the forces of nature and how these are manifested in the shapes and features in different environments.
Drawing from this fascination, I have been experimenting with the use of air and water to manipulate paints and pigments in ways that have allowed me to experiment, in a controlled setting, some of these natural forces in order to achieve features and components similar to those found in nature, but rather than seeking to recreate literal representations, I am exploring my own with the objective of further expanding on a very personal visual vocabulary.
I view this body of work as a visual record of a creative expedition of sort, a manifestation of the spirit of artistic exploration which reveals itself as both minute and vast imaginary spaces inhabited by forms and events which move in and out of view with activity and life...these images are snapshots of what I see...
